I am having a bit of creative block lately. I think it is all this crazy weather messing with my pysche..sun, rain, sun, wind, terrifying alien takeover grey stormy clouds, followed by sunshine. I am not the only one, the birds outside have been haywire and flying into our windows. Trust me when I say it isn't because my windows are clean. I think they are as confused as me, not knowing to bunker down or enjoy the flowers.
Around here: Fieldin is a triking little daredevil, Greta is starting to get into mathematics. She's going to be hearing alot of "go ask your daddy" in her future, We organized Greta's big girl room and she is actually keeping it clean, Fieldin carries on conversations ALL DAY with anyone who will listen and on any subject from sea otters to skunks smelling like poop, Greta moved into level two of swimming and is doing great..wooot woot!, I am gardening, Jeff is cussing at our backyard drip line and that's about it..
So help me with my creative block..what do you want to see or hear on this blog: more video? Dairy free recipe hit and misses? gardening in Or-y-gun, conversations with kids? randomness?let me know..
Sounds like Greta wants to watch the movie Megamind again.... it is cute. To all my amigos and family far away, I miss you. Come visit :)

Aviation
Ok.. another of my secrets abound..not only am I a history/art buff, I like airplanes...especially WWII bombers... We took a family field trip to the Evergreen Aviation Museum and it was amazing. A whole day of fun, especially the space building... o.k...yes!! I love all things about space and space exploration too... boy I am just spilling the beans.. there will be no more secrets of myself to share.. ha, o.k. not true. Now onto the photos before I tell you more secrets of myself, like my addiction to Oregon Hazelnuts..
Playing games...for kids but more for daddy's
Snacking in front of a MIG
So excited to be at the museum..

Fieldy thought this plane was for him.. and yes his shirt says wingman.. he is my wingman. (thanks for sending shirt Michel!)
Recreated Wright Bros planes and the "Spruce Goose" in the background. Howard Hughes' wood plane. This plane was HUGE.
In front of one of the WWII bombers..
This is the little boy that would not ride a baby train with his sister last week. Give him a chance to go on a plane ride that will take him high up in the air alone and he is all for it... so much that he rode it three times and wanted more. After each ride Greta yelled "where's my parachute?" as she jumped from her plane. Fieldin yelled"Cowabunga".
Re-creation of moon buggy. Jeff, Greta and I have been to Cape Canaveral before and toured NASA. I have to say, I had more fun with this museum and exhibit..
I have a bunch more fun pics to share but out of room.. I will try to get more on flickr this weekend. Hope all of you had a great start to the three day weekend. Congrats Sara for a school year ended! :)

Around The Yard- May
Fieldy and I spent the morning tinkering around the backyard this morning. I love my plants and the extra growing season we get here.
Here are a few pics of the backyard. It is less than a year old.
Most people are not excited about moss but I am.... I have been waiting for the stone patio to fill in with moss. I live in Oregon, why fight the green. The man who laid our patio says most people opt to go moss free, so he was surprised that we liked it.. It will help hold the pavers in place..and if we ever get tired of it a quick power wash will clean it up. No harm done. I think I will keep the tops of the stone moss free for now and just let it grow happily in the crevices.
Black eyed susan. This baby is taking off and I need a place for it. Original plans for it didn't work out. I'm thinking of putting it in a pot on the front porch...

Wings Of Wonder
We marked off another item off our Spring to-do list. We took a trip to Wings of Wonder, a very neat place, less than 10 minutes from our house.
The kids loved it!

Enchanted and Trauma
Yesterday was spent at Enchanted Village. We had alot of fun except Fieldin had some traumatic fear moments. Here is happy with daddy by his side on a ride which wasn't always the case...
Greta liked the bumper cars but spent most of her time stuck in the corners...

Sliding down the old lady's shoe...
Greta on the log ride...alone..she is fearless. Right before this she went on a fast roller coaster ride alone. I am highly impressed with her courage.

Sun
It's been feeling like summer around here. Brilliant weather, school slowing down, summer clothes making their way out of the closet, and a little color on our pasty skin.
Today Fieldy and I spent most of morning and afternoon outside. I love this sun.

Hurry To The War
There is something you all may not know about me. I love history and have wanted to go to a civil war reenactment for a long time. I've never had a chance until we moved to Oregon where they are quite easy to find. The kids "dressed" in war attire. I asked Greta if she knew how people dressed in the 1800's and she said "They wore brown clothes and were covered in mud". Fieldin's attire was more late depression era while Greta wore her beret. She looked more French Revolution than Civil war but noone judged. Greta ran to the war site yelling"Hurry to the war. We will miss the war". I wonder how our forefathers would find the enthusiasm.
