We Can Put The Kleenex Away

We are FINALLY healthy. We've been passing a bug around the house for the last couple weeks and it was a baaad bug. Being homebound gave me some time to get a few things done, picture organization, house organization, lots of board games, watching the kids compete at wii, writing and drawing(Greta wrote a book titled "A Cat Named Sweet", playing monster trucks and legos, catching up on my pile of magazines, cleaning the office closet, moving furniture, cooking up new soups, sleeping many hours on the couch, watching old episodes of Gold Rush on Discovery channel, watching lots of Monster Jam with Fieldin, making a fabric wreath and drinking lots of tea and miso. We are all happy to be better and able to leave the house! I didn't take too many pics for my photo dump but here are a few.
Watching for daddy to come home from work. Obviously a sick mommy must be too boring for them.
We ran out of cat food so Fieldin and I took an emergency pet store run. It is a wonderful little pet store where they load him up with goodies. As you can tell his favorite treat is in the bag.
Poor Greta was home sick but Chomps kept her company. It may not look like it but he likes sitting this way...

Friday, Greta came home after celebrating 100 days of school(she told me it was 102 days of school in actuality)
Feeling better and needed some fresh flowers to liven up the place. I bought pink roses and white Gerber Daisies and I love the combination. Cutting and decorating with flowers is calming even with the cat in my face. These are front and center in the house on this rainy day.

Looking forward to a new busy week and having our energy back!

Thursday

We have been under the weather this week. It seems like everyone else is too these days. I think we need some spring sunshine to make us all better. Greta and I are on the upswing but poor Fieldy is just coming down with the crud. He is cozied up on the sofa watching Wordworld with Chompers cozied up on his lap... watching over him like usual.

So whats been going on.. hmmm not much but here is what I can think of:

Greta missed her Valentines' Day party at school since she was sick. She was bummed but most bummed about missing swimming that evening. She went to school yesterday and brought home her valentine's. She loved reading them and hung them up on her bedroom wall.

Jeff is very busy at work but has a day off tomorrow so I am looking forward to spending time with him.
I am pretty much done with my spring clean organization overhaul. So relieved. I am currently going through our collection of photo albums from the 90's to early 2000's. I am boxing the photos up or scrapbooking them. It will clear up lots of space. Plus Jeff and I don't like to be reminded how well rested we used to look once upon a time before kiddos:)
I am organizing my craft projects so I will get some of them done.... I hope.

The kids can't get enough of Mr.Popper's Penguins and a big bowl of popcorn to share.

Greta and I have started reading chapter books before she goes to bed. I love that we both can't wait for reading time to see what happens next...

Fieldin is starting to show some interest in using the laptop. He has been practicing on his play vtech laptop to get used to the keys etc..before he gets to play with the big kids toy.

He sings "closing time" with me over and over again while running errands. ..."You don't have to go home but you can't stay here".. we've got quite the harmony going.

I cherish Greta's written messages and drawings to me. Fieldin is starting to draw more and more and I love it.

Chompers likes to play fetch for a half hour straight...

I look forward to Downton Abbey every week.

I broke down and bought a cake pop maker.. I am not an appliance person and can't believe I did it. But there are sooo many decorating possibilities with a little round piece of cake.

I hope you are all healthy. I hope you are all happy. I hope you are all enjoying your Thursday.

It's Friday

Today I am a bit lazy.
Today I am protecting my castle from Fieldin, batman and a horse.
Today it is raining and is a soup sorta day.
Today Fieldin's hair is crazy.
Today I bought storage bins for my craft closet.
Today I saw beautiful bluebirds in the birdhouse outside the kitchen window.
Today I am going to drink two cups of coffee before dinner... trust me.
Today I help Greta start on Valentine's.
Today I start cutting pipe cleaners for Greta's class party next week.
Today I remembered to blog.
Today Fieldin and Chompers are High Energy.
Today I am taking a day off of laundry.
Today I realized I average three roundtrips in the car a day. Tues and Thurs I have to do 4 roundtrips. I get tired of the car but know many that drive way more than I do. I am thinking we need a car free day once a week around here.
Today I have heard Fieldin say"Accidents Happen!" 4 times.
Today I took the scenic route home.
Today I am happy.
Today I am looking over our calendar. Two months to grets birthday! yikes..
Today when I asked Fieldin what the first word that comes to mind is.. he said "soccer"
Today I am waiting to hear about Greta's day.
Today I got woken up by the garbage truck instead of by a child or cat.

I hope you all are having a great today.

Tearing It Up

I am still tearing my house apartment. cleaning out closets, reorganizing.. staring at walls. I am almost done...but then it starts all over right?
I have been a little cavelike while I place the house in constant upheavel. I want these projects done, especially before springtime hits.
Here is my photo dump:
A picture by Fieldin..sorry blogger isn't letting me straighten it. This is a pic of me by a volcano with lava spewing from it...I look pretty angry at the volcano....
He loves to play.. cars, airplanes, batman, anything and everything.. I love his imagination.. see his short pants.. yep he's growing again.
Sweet chompers. He is also growing.
 Playing angry birds

making a Valentine's wreath from Aunt Barb:)

A Hammer, A Couple Nails And Some Glue

The little builders were happy today.... Monthly project day at Home Depot. Today was a keepsake box.

 gluing and hammering.
Then painting.. little man went crazy with the paint. It is an inch thick so it may dry in a week:)

No busted fingers, toes or teeth...A successful fun project.

Protecting The Cart

I am one lucky lady to have protection from a clone trooper while I shop. He even wears his mask while I drive him around. He looks quite threatening doesn't he?

You Pay For The Whole Seat But You'll Only Use Half

Monster Jam is that exciting for Fieldin.
He has played with Monster Jam trucks for awhile, but thanks to Jeff and DVR, he now can watch it and reinact the jumps and crashes.
He is REALLY into this.
We are talking, digging through ALL the Monster Jam trucks in the toy section, telling anyone who will listen about how"Grave Digger, he loosed" " The trucks go crash and jump" I thank these people for their kindness and listening to the little fellow.

It has become his whole world and he has only watched Monster Jam....ONCE.
I see lots of this in my future.....
