Friday

Fieldin peeking in the toy store window.

Finally made it to Friday! Our backyard is finished except for the planting. I enjoy that part so hope to do the planting over the summer months. It is nice to have it done, but Fieldin misses all the cool tools and equipment they had.
This morning, Fieldin and I had some special time together. I took him for a haircut, which he didn't mind at all. Then we bought him some new shoes(which he handed to me and said"buy"..no joke) and played in the toy store. We went on a little adventure at home, him carrying a bucket and shovel, picking up treasures. Then a little playtime at the park where he can climb and go down the slide himself.. he says "slide....wheeeee!"
Miss Greta had a good day as well and is the proud owner of a certificate for best "splotchy colored rock".
So glad it is Friday!

Happenings....

Life has been busy this last week. Time is spent getting everything into place to get Miss Greta registered for Kindergarten, me avoiding the DMV, check-ups at the dr., play, Jeff finding a glass float in the rocks at the ocean, the end of a birthday celebration and a visit from Gigi. Here is some other moments from the last few days...

Our pig pen of a back yard is slowly turning into a thing of beauty, thanks to a few qualified professionals..unlike myself. This would not even be a smidge level if I were doing this.
My girl is a budding artist. She is drawing the most amazing things lately. Reminds me of myself , once upon a time.

Another nightly visit from a neighborly frog. This pic was taken right before Fieldin poked a little too hard...don't worry it was o.k. and was safely returned home to live another day....barely.

Opening some Birthday presents. For you Pullmanites questioning our loyalties, one of those gifts had a WSU cheerleading dress inside. She isn't an OSU Beaver yet!
And in other news our very tall children are even taller than I imagined. Miss Belle is now slightly over 4 feet tall with 1 1/2 old brother quickly catching up at 3 feet!!!!! Yikes! I better go buy some heels.

Ruh Roh..Look Who's Turning 5!!!!

Waiting for her friends to arrive. SO EXCITED!

Can't believe she is five. All dressed up ready to play and eat cake!

Her cake. The Scooby doo mystery machine. This cake was amazing! decorated on all sides with scooby and shaggy in all the windows. It was a work of art! or "Rork of Rart" as Scooby would say...

Hmmmm...Any guesses on her party theme?

Playing this morning while we decorated. Fieldin kept saying"balloons" and trying to reach them from the ceiling. Not sure which one was most excited....Greta is wearing her birthday girl crown in this pic...

Today

Miss Greta went to preschool today. She was given a star at school for getting her work done and doing her jobs. She also happily nominated mommy and daddy to make cookies for her next class...:) Today she came home from school with ribbons still in her hair(not lost in the abyss of the play area) with her backpack all zipped up, artwork intact. Her clothes did not have any major sticky stains and her hands were clean..... She used to come home looking like she took a ride in a paint filled tornado. She remembered everything she did today besides just what she had for snack. She remembers her teachers name. She will be five in a few short days.....*sigh* and all of a sudden she is acting like a five year old...a big girl ready for kindergarten.
This little mischief maker spent the day doing his favorite things..trashing the house and saying new words. Today he said" scooby doo..where are you?" and "more cheese, please" while we were getting ready for dinner. The three of us were thrown..we realized the little man now is speaking in sentences. A new world for all of us, especially him. He sings the abc song but hums a bit at the end somewhere around "t". Good job bud, we are so glad you can start putting your two cents in at the dinner table...remember you have to speak LOUD to be heard over your sister :)

Artist

Today we were in the car quite a bit, which is somewhat a good thing, since I know I will get some great artwork from Greta to post on the fridge. Fieldin is cutting his eye teeth and not feeling very well so she made a portrait of him walking ( I loooove it). Also, she drew a nice picture of a frog named Netty. Netty, in her own words, "is a frog that is a bit cross because he didn't get to go to soccer". A bit cross....what a great way to say angry. I've said it once and will again...I love my girl and her words. Thank you for the fridge art, Gret!

What The Little Man Does While Sister Is At School

What the little man does while sister is at school. He wears, does, looks at everything he normally gets yelled at for by sister....

It is his free time to get into her stuff, move and touch things that are normally forbidden. I let him him do it...it's good for him. Today he went for the big guns..her princess sash and her photo album. This morning he knew once we got home that it was fun time. "Play!" he said, and he headed up the stairs...of course to play in her room a bit :) Shhhhh....don't tell!

This Week In Pictures

Thinking I am ready to get back into the swing of this blog again. We can see the garage floor, I broke down the last box and I am just now feeling like we are living again and pretty much settled. Not much on the walls and rooms are a little scattered but that will come with time. Here is a quick glimpse of our week. I know it's not Friday(trust me) but here is our week in pictures.

Pure Beauty.
Buds.

A surprise in our garage. Very cute and he was carefully taken out to the wetland in a butterfly net.

Trail trouble. We have to speedy's now. Greta likes to ride the walking trails in our neighborhood and Fieldin likes to trek behind her ringing his bell every few minutes. Greta stops to load up her bike bag with "amazing" rocks and Fieldin moos at cows and yells "Beep Beep". We have the occasional tumble....I get them both set back up and away we go.

For some reason this pic showed up twice....

Celebrating Easter

First off, this little man is now 18 mths. I am so proud of him. He is sweet, smart, caring and the little family clown. He changes so much everyday. His lovely big sister turns five soon....not sure what to think about these kids growing up so fast...I am just lucky I get to see them grow everyday.

These two celebrated early Easter festivities today by putting up with pictures at a beautiful tulip farm.

Hanging out with the Bunny in charge. Fieldy loved him. He kept yelling"Bunny!"

An indoor egghunt. Fieldy liked the egg with faces on them, Greta liked the "pretty colored eggs".

And an outdoor egg hunt. These two brought home some major loot. We had a very fun day. Tomorrow we spend a quiet day together, appreciating the day. After lunch the kids will have one more egg hunt(if weather holds up) and I get to be part of the egg hiding. Happy Easter everyone!
