Stir Crazy

We are all trying to keep busy but kinda out of sorts too. Trying to keep the kids learning but neither have the energy for it currently

The seeds I’ve been babying are really starting to grow

We need drives to get out

This little guy still doesn’t seem rested up even after two weeks of being at home..

Stand Down Continued

She still has control of our laundry basket and towels.. we don’t have the heart to take this special place away from her..(above) when all the humans are home and no one is playing with her.

Happy 130th Birthday WSU

Fieldin worked on a pumpkin cake and frosted it. I added a quick decoration. WSU turning 130 years old was a good reason to bake a cake on this rainy day!

Knitted Kitty Toys

I’ve been knitting squares while we watch movies to practice the best way to teach Fieldin to knit. With the squares I made these bunnies and Greta added catnip to them:) new toys for Tater Tot..

More Self Distancing

I noticed the neighborhood has turned one of my book boxes into a temporary food pantry for those neighbors that may eat it. They even put cat food in there:)

I told him I was tired of him asking for food constantly so he made this to make his point. I remind him he needs to use his school stomach.. at school he doesn’t eat ALL day:)

Grocery store lines. Waiting to get into Trader Joe’s. We live in another world right now..

Stand Down Day 3

I guess we needed new towels anyway... for some reason the cat has taken over a our laundry basket that had clean towels in it. It is now her new bed and holds her two favorite toys. If we are up stairs she runs up to make sure we are not touching her new space!
Hopefully this passes and we can reclaim outworks again...

Social Distancing

I’ve been busy making more cats out of materials that would have gone to the landfill.

Writing and singing a song about social distancing

The backyard is done for now. Now we wait for the weather to warm up so we can plant!

Lots of garden space now, hooked up to sprinklers.

Kitty is loving all the bird activity out in the backyard

Back Yard Part 1

It’s Spring, it’s warm and we do t have anything better to do right now so we jump started on our backyard redo. We all know I don’t like grass.. the upkeep, resources, chemicals etc are a pain so we put in rock and will have 5 garden beds plus one standing bed set up by Tuesday, hopefully. We also have room for seating and a cool corn hole/yard game set up.

The front yard almost did us in years ago and this was rough today moving all the rock and dirt. Starting to think my body is getting older????

This was tarp down, waiting for rock. No more Oregon weed grass...

Hopefully if weather holds this will be finished by midweek

Trees

One of the things I love about Oregon are beautiful mossy trees in the Spring all around our house. Such a beautiful combination

Distancing

I’m taking advantage of this extra time I have with the kids, time outside, time in my pj’s.. is it ideal, no but we are doing well. I’ve been busy starting seeds and repotting plants.

I’ve been spray painting tin that wasn’t really recyclable to turn it into art..

Puzzle, bike, darts, learning magic tricks for this guy

I’ve finished my wood burning project for Greta

A tired kitty.. she is exhausted from watching us from windows, howling and climbing the screen door
Working from home once in awhile..

The top of Greta’s wood chest.. she wanted a highland cow and Scottish thistles so I had fun with the wood burner

Mary Poppins

So many massive hours of practice and so many shows... the last two shows were canceled due to virus concerns. She did the percussion for the orchestra. So many instruments and the orchestra sounded amazing! She played so many instruments she didn’t have any break in the 2 1/2 hour show.. out of all those instruments she loved the bird whistle the best where she sounded like a lark.. so proud of this girl!
Here is just her instrument set up with all the microphones..

Her and her beloved bird whistle

State

Fingers crossed.. this girl has worked hard and made state for percussion solo, a group percussion ensemble and for her wind ensemble band... fingers crossed she can compete. To make state as a freshman is such a great accomplishment.

A Little Pandemic

Dear kids,
Viruses are no fun. Right know you are learning a lesson in patience and grace. Competitions you worked hard for and fun activities have been canceled. School is closed for over 2 weeks. You know what it feels like to not find an onion or a potato at the grocery store. We teach you to be thankful, kind, practical and prepared and lately you have been using those lessons in everyday life. Sadly, this is probably a new part of life for you youngsters. So when you read this many years from now just remember.. make healthy food and share with others that need some extra help. Make the most of self quarantine time. Right now, you are spending a little extra time fine tuning your French, researching, catching up on instruments. Catching up on old Disney flicks, drawing, building and enjoying family time.
I’ve been busy making seed starters out of toilet paper rolls so we can start the garden seeds.

Lots of board games together and a hiding cat..

Pie making

LEGO  building

More games

Music time

Deciding on new wall colors, cleaning and creating...
