Fieldin is #6. That is him in green stopping the ball and getting the goal. He is doing really well in soccer and will move up next year to a longer, bigger playing field, which means alot more running and play time, and that makes him happy.

Around Here
Wow! May flew by way too quickly.
We are finally over alot of sickness this month and Greta is back to full mobility after spraining her ankle.
I am finishing up with another year of school and it has been a great one. We have a couple kiddos that we need to say goodbye to early and it is never easy. I only have 4 more work days until my summer officially starts. Then I report back in late August to get ready for classes to start in September. This year went by like a flash, but like I said such a fun year.
Chomps has been busy watching the blue birds nesting in the back yard and he likes howling at the two dove pairs we have back again this year. We can't let him out as much with all the nesting birds but when we do he keeps busy catching snakes for us.
Soccer is over and Fieldin had a great year playing. Now we move into T-ball season which he is enjoying.
My goofballs. I never know what or whom I will get when I pick these two up at school.
Now that we are all on the mend our afternoons, evenings and weekends are spent outside.
Everything is in bloom around these parts.
We've been hitting the hiking trails and forests on a regular basis, sometimes every day. We love it. Such great family time. This is why I forget to take pictures. We head out and I forget a camera.
Little man has finally decided to start riding a bike. I guess he has given up on his "If I run, I get places faster" philosophy.
We've been cutting roses for a week and love it. It is also strawberry and rhubarb season so we are stocking up for winter.
more hiking and Fieldin is in charge of the trail map. He still wears soccer socks everywhere these days. I guess he is prepared if there is a game going on some where.

Around Here
Around here, everything is in bloom. The iris, the red hot pokers, and roses are in full bloom...I love all the flowers once again.
Little man is always busy with some project. Really thankful for the art room. On nice days they move outside to create.
And this is what the art table still looks likes, always changing, always busy with the kids and their friends, always messy and luckily still there after Greta and her friend did some chemistry experiments on it...and of course the cat is always in the middle of everything those two kids are up to.
We didn't think we would get two happy little readers but this one is giving Greta a run for her money. He will read just about anywhere these days(here at Costco) and we have to check on him after he is "supposed" to go to bed because we find him up reading. I should have imagined since they are so different in almost every way that they would read differently. Greta likes to lounge and read for hours. Fieldin reads in a lot of short 10 minute bursts. No surprise he has no interest in the books she enjoyed. It is hard to find books he can really get into, besides just star wars. He did like Ralph S. Mouse.
A chocolate dispensing robot Fieldin made and painted for Greta when she sprained her ankle. He has made a lot of "robots" this last year out of stuff in our recycle bin, shelves, garage.. anything he can find.
While sitting with Greta when she was laid up on the couch, I wanted to make her something. It made me feel better making her something. So I got out some felt and made a drawstring bag for her drum sticks.
all in bloom in the backyard
and happy birthday Chompers. He is 4 now! or 28... This is how he spent almost all of his birthday!!! Sleeping with a couple trips to the kitchen window to watch the bluebirds build their nest. We love you Chompers, but you already know that.
Sprained
This is what Greta usually looks like. Both feet working.
Diving, jumping, running, serving, soccer playing, hula hooping, tether ball playing ball of energy.
Then one game of tag landed her in urgent care after rolling her ankle in a hole on the soccer field.
Her first x-rays above. In good spirits.
And laid up on the sofa for a few days. She had a great attitude about the whole thing.
I love this picture, she is doing homework that was sent home with Fieldin while the cat lays on her hurt ankle.
In her boot and crutches headed to school with nurse Fieldin at her side. He was such a good helper.
We found out on Wednesday after 5 days of boot fun that she could put weight on her ankle. She can ONLY walk for the next week. No other activities which means she can't finish out Spring volleyball. But instead of feeling sorry for herself she went and cheered on her team last night, brought them treats and fought her way into running the scoreboard, they usually only let adults do it but she had used the machine at basketball camp so somehow talked her way into doing it, despite a coach questioning her ability but she held her ground. She did a great job, and no mistakes and showed that you can't judge a girl by her age :) I am always so proud when I watch her play but I was almost more proud watching how she handled this set back. Such a special girl she is.
