She's A Decade

Well, it wasn't long ago we were counting 10 fingers and 10 toes,
And today we are counting 10 years.
A perfect 10.
I spent my day calling Greta "decade" and "double dig"(short for digit and I can say it in a rappers voice that makes it all the more (un) cool. She thinks it's funny. I told her I can call her "decade" for one year. I will have to remember to call her that when I see her at school. Then she may not think it's funny anymore :)
The morning started with an excited girl, despite her having a miserable cold. Like a "have to carry a box of kleenex everywhere" cold but she had a good day even with a plugged nose.
Fieldin wanted to light her candles this morning, either because he was being kind or because he is a boy that likes fire.. I will let you choose the answer.
She wouldn't give us the slightest hint of what her wish was and I am pretty sure I could never guess.
She had a movie party at a local small theatre downtown that we love. She chose to watch the "Goonies" with about 20 of her friends. This place just fits her personality and also her love for drama.
She didn't want cupcakes or cake this year so she opted for Rocky Road and Baby Ruth bars.. If you've watched the movie you will know why. The girls were loaded up on candy, popcorn and sodas so almost all just took them home.
A greeting for Gret on the big screen. You can't tell with the flash but there was a disco ball going in there and she LOVED it. It was neat.
There she is.. can you believe she is 10 now?
She loved the personalized screens around the theatre and being able to walk/dance on the movie stage.

 opening gifts.

 and then more at home
She is at the age where money makes her squeal.

more pictures from her party, a sign I put out and Gret a.k.a decade out in front of the theatre.
some table decorations...Such a fun time. She did a great job picking this one.
Happy Birthday to you Greta,
I can't even put into words how proud we are to have you as our daughter.
How we love you so, and obviously many others do.
It has been a very fast, amazing 10 years.
Once, I was sad to think of you growing up and now I just can't wait to see all you are going to accomplish.
A perfect 10, indeed.

Spring Sports

Spring sports are in session around here.
Greta is having a good season so far and has gotten stronger since the Fall even. That's her in the pink shoes waiting for a return. She has found her sport while Fieldin is still trying out new things to find what he wants to focus on.
He is good at soccer but he has been asking to play t-ball so we are going to give it a try in late Spring. He also wants to play football but his mean mom says no. I tell him he is too pretty to play football. You can imagine how much he loves me saying that...major eye roll.
There he is above in green on his way to a goal.

Download Of Greta's Camera

For some reason this pic won't straighten... Anyway instead of me documenting Greta's adventures she has permission from her teacher to take her camera on field trips now. She loves photography.. it was hard sifting through the hundreds of photos, but here are few I found.
Trip to the museum.. to learn pioneer history.
Greta is in to what I call creepy modern photography. Her friends are always game to model for her thankfully.

at the state capitol above. And science weekend with a friend below for marine biology day.

Now back to her artistic stuff

You wouldn't guess but that is Greta above

 At the state capital

I'm guessing she is probably supposed to be listening instead of photo taking :)
She said she was declaring a bill below.
 Her friend on the bus

Sitting in the governors chair "making heavy decisions"
I love seeing her photos.. so fun.

The Office Is Open

Fieldin likes to think of his bedroom as his office. He has this sign on his door below
 Fieldin Babbitt's Offes (office)
and also this sign that says"stink on poo" with a smelly Greta knocking him over with her scent...And yes that word bubble by Greta says "gas".
Here is his clean office when he "works" and no the picture frame doesn't contain a photo of his beloved family or cat, it is a photo of a lego clonetrooper.
This is what his office usually looks like on his desk and on the floor. Lego's everywhere.
All busy "workers" need a break once in awhile.....

Happy Easter

We have been busy eating alot of eggs.
We all got in the fun of dyeing eggs this year, so extra eggs to eat up.
Fieldin woke Greta up at 5:30 a.m. to let her know that the Easter Bunny came!
After they dug through their baskets, we sent them back to bed so they wouldn't be too tired for church.

They love their silly pictures.
Greta wanted a pic of her excited Easter face....

 Fieldin's Easter art
They've been waiting for this, the annual backyard egg hunt.

This year there was money in some of the eggs and that was more exciting than the candy.

I love when the lilacs are in bloom. If only they lasted a bit longer.
Greta made deviled eggs using Aunt Barb's recipe. She still had it memorized from Thanksgiving. She did a great job. She did the pinkie test that Aunt Barb told her to do and she said they tasted just right, I tried too and she was right!! Luckily, we have someone in the house that can make deviled eggs since mine always look like they went through a grinder.

Happy Easter Everyone!!
