The Senses Of Covid

My friend was talking about the senses she will remember from this isolation time. One of hers was the sound of her daughter in a pogo stick. I thought this was such a great idea so I decided to come up with my own. What I will remember about covid-19...
Smells: The pungent smell of sourdough starter ( it was in my nose for a week, all I could smell was sourdough) When I use it in the future, the smell will take me back to this time. Also, the smell of our garden early in the morning...
Sound: The sound of Greta on her guitar or piano creating her own music and lyrics for the first time. After we all went to bed last night I could hear the sound of the guitar and her voice floating upstairs. Another sound is FaceTime and zoom calls. Anywhere in the house you can hear these calls and weird pauses that come along with the lag time. Also, Fieldin’s sweet voice talking to Tater Tot while he takes her on her backyard walk.
Sight: My first seed sprouts and the beautiful garden that followed. The pretty painted walls I pass throughout the day that has made our ten year old home feel brand new. Fieldin as he sits and does his homework and his silly expressions. Seeing Jeff really take on home projects these last couple months.
Taste: All the new treats and foods we have tried while at home. Especially fresh baked bread that I wasn’t able to master before.
Touch: Using so much hand sanitizer on top of the more frequent hand washing. Learning to shape my tortillas just right. Playing in the dirt so much more than usual and loving every minute of it.
