A Glimpse: Day 7

It’s spring break and Fieldin met another new buddy in the neighborhood his age so we barely saw him again today. We know he’s around because of the toys laying around the porch and a quick stop home for lunch. The rest of his days have been outside playing. Which I love!

Kitty spent her day sleeping in windows and watching birds. We got the old Atari that dad gave us and got it hooked up thanks to a tiny new connector piece.

Walking around the wetland across town with Jeff

Seeing turtles sunbathing... it was a quiet day of rest around here with a trip to the record store for Greta and lounging.

A Glimpse: Day 6

A morning note left for us...

Greta babysat all day but we got to see her for a bit at the park

Attempting a vegan sugar free banana raisin bread

Morning walk with the new school being built in the background

With Gret gone and Fieldin at a birthday party all day, Jeff and I got some lazy time on the porch.

A Glimpse: Day 5

Day five started with work on a book report and then playtime with a friend.

Sleepy kitty, bird watching kitty and annoying kitty because she refuses to eat her new food. We think it is too healthy for her taste buds....

It is wild trillium season in Oregon which means spring to me

Greta has been gone for 14 hours and counting at a robotics tournament. She sent me this pic of their robot, Maggie.

Walk #2 in the woods with Jeff and Fieldin in the evening.

Walk # 1: Around the wetlands in my neighborhood

Sleeping Fieldin. The funny part of this photo is the hidden donut I found. See the crumpled paper towels on his nightstand? Someone took the special donut he wanted, knowing his sister would be up before him tomorrow and he didn't want her to take it. I will remain quiet on this one. He is usually not so sneaky and for thinking ahead I must applaud him :)
Now add in some bad tires, my first chicken burial :( two cups of coffee and a lot of rocking in front porch rocking chairs.. this about sums up the day.

A Glimpse: Day 4

lil' bro sitting with sister while she practices piano. I love getting photos when they have no idea that I am around.
After a day of park playing and hanging out,Gret, Fieldin and their friend went to watch a movie at the theater and I stayed home with the 2nd grade sister of their friend that wanted to play outside instead. It was many fun hours at the park and this is the picture she took of me pouting when I was caught and put in jail.. aka the bottom of the play structure.

Post sleepover energy.. He got home, dropped his sleeping bag and was off outside with his lacrosse stick.

The weekly grocery shopping with a jasmine plant thrown in...

A day of playing with friends with no break and he is still going.. 9:30 p.m. nachos and game night. Our friend Karlee came by for our version of Tenzi which is always fun. Greta is in bed since she has to get up at 5:30 am for robotics.

The view across the street. All the trees around here are in full bloom!

With kids away playing, I worked on some laundry with my micro manger watching my every move. She was upset I woke her up from her third nap of the day.

A Glimpse: Day 3

Coveted video game time

He was a bit excited about a sleepover.. he made a to do list. :)

Poor little guy has been woken up for a week by a couple annoying birds flying into his window every morning. I assume their is a nest above his window. We hear him muttering  down the hall “stupid birds”.. of course the cat hears it and leaps up on his bed to see what the birds are up to :) This morning he took refuge on the sofa to get away from the birds. It’s spring time!

A Glimpse: Day 2

Possibly the only nice day of the week can’t pass by without a trip to the beach.
We brought along a good friend who doesn’t mind playing games with us in the sand.

This guy was excited to dig holes, play lacrosse, baseball, frisbee and chase.

Her first business plan and it is impressive. Two weeks of hard work and it's done!

A Glimpse: Day 1

To get back in the swing of taking pictures again, I’m attempting a picture (or three) a day for one month. I did this before when the kids were very little and It should be interesting to do it again. So, here we go! Today was the first day of spring break. Greta working on a robotics business plan (above)

Listening to music while unloading the dishwasher

An unhappy kitty at the vet check up and sitting with the kids (below)
We assumed she had put on quite a bit of weight and she has only gained 1 pound in a year! I'm jealous. She weighs 8 1/2 pounds now.

Signs of spring on the porch
New haircut and drawing time in his new sketchbook
Homemade pizza night... and it's gluten free, egg free and sugar free

A Big Award For The Eldest

This girl was invited to a banquet where she was awarded a plaque and $50 for her academics, community service and school involvement over the last three years of middle school.
So proud of this girl and hearing about three years of ALL her accomplishments almost brought a tear to my eye. It was so nice to see her ambitious ways and all her hard work be commended, celebrated and rewarded. What an amazing night.
