Giving Thanks

We had a very nice Thanksgiving with family. We were all sad to leave especially the kids.
As usual, we all pitch in to make the meal. I can honestly say, this years was the best feast yet. Over the last 6 years of us getting together to cook, I would say we have the process down. There sometimes is a mess up which just turns out to be a good memory.

Dad gets to work on the potatoes
While Fieldin and Uncle Larry play some checkers, luckily he kept an eye on Fieldin since he likes to make new game rules....
One of Gret's favorite things, making deviled eggs with Aunt Barb. She looks forward to this.
yes, the cat traveled with us again this year. He stayed away on Thanksgiving day but did some begging for ham the next day.

 The rare joy of snow...
decorating grandpa's tree. This was alot of fun, especially seeing all the fun ornaments from the past.
Jeff and Gret worked on a raisin cream pie from great grandma Violet's recipe and it was soooo good.
Before the food fun, the four of us and my awesome aunt did a 5k turkey trot race. It was COLD. The 4 of us are not used to twenty degree weather anymore. I think this race should be a new tradition.
 Before the race
Fieldin ran a kids race before the 5K and got third place.

Remember I talked about those food mishaps that become funny stories. Well, it was my turn this year. That is not a delicious cookie. That is supposed to be ham glaze. Yes, seriously, ham glaze.
And it isn't Thanksgiving time without watching the Apple Cup. Poor Cougs :(

And memories of this girl trying to solve a brain teaser. Grandpa challenged her to it with $1 for the prize. There was no stopping her and she did win the dollar.
What a great Thanksgiving!
