Fun At Grandpa's
We were gone the last 5 days visiting dad/grandpa and having some fun.
After a very difficult hike to the top of Saddle Rock. Greta did it and Fieldin did great especially since Jeff carried him on his shoulders most the way. :)

Greta started the summer with a basketball camp at OSU. She really enjoyed it, and she came home after two hours very tired:). She was happy to see Benny and be around new kids. On the third and final day, I could really see a change in her dribbling, passing and shooting. Most important I just wanted her to have fun and see if she enjoyed the sport.
This little munchkin, loved it and found a way to join in and be apart of camp, even though he was too young and not registered. This one.. he is sneaky. The neat thing was instead of Greta telling him to go away like I expected she helped him. She put him in front of her in line to protect him and hugged him while they waited their turns. She had him sit on her lap. She taught him. She gave him kisses. She was proud of him. It was a sight to behold and I wish Jeff could have seen it because it was pretty darn sweet.

Fieldin-isms From Today
There are so many Fieldy-ism's in a day but these three stuck out.
To me: " On the first day of preschool I am going to say "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10(said quickly) now it's time to go home!!"
While riding his bike: " ummm, this bike ride is giving me a baaad wedgie. This always happens."
This morning trying to make Greta laugh: "I'm going to soccer naked. Noone will notice. I will put on socks and shoes."
They Are Putting Me Out Of A Job
Greta has been my jam helper this summer. She helped me pick out the cherries at the farm and washed and pitted them with her favorite pitter tool. Then she helped make the jam and jar it. She was a great helper. She is getting more handy in the kitchen and I think it is time for her to take on some dinner prep :)
This one can pretty much make cookies on his own with Jeff doing the measuring. He has a certain bowl and spoon he likes to use. He runs the mixer and scoops the cookies on the cookie sheet when his dough is done. It is pretty cool, I must say.
I love this picture, is he growing up, or what?
If they keep taking my jobs then that frees up more time for me to clean, and that won't do... :)
Summer Does This To A Three Year Old
Here is little Chunk totally engrossed in a frozen chocolate nut covered banana(doesn't he look happy?)..... Then literally, a few minutes after this, he drops fast asleep on the kitchen table. Greta is across the table eating her banana and didn't even notice. It is hilarious when he does this.
Hi Summer, Hey What's up?
So far most of our time has been spent outside, picking berries, hiking, biking and playing.
The kids are starting to carry their own hike packs...awesome
with their found hiking sticks. We were on a steep old lumber road this day and they were of good use.

Lots of trying new sports and things. The boys are really into remote control cars at the moment.

Summer Time Officially- Last Day Of School
Miss Greta is now a second grader. She bid farewell to first grade on June 14th. I am very bad with dates but pages were posted, notes were written our house buzzed with this date, so it is hard to forget. I found a journal entry Greta wrote about the last day of school( Hey don't judge there was no lock on her journal, and it was open..ahem) Anyway, she wrote she would miss her teacher but now she can do fun stuff all day and she doesn't have to do homework. Sounds like she was ready for Summer. So how did she want to kick off her summer and a free afternoon. Getting frozen yougurt and strawberry picking. And yes, she ate that whole sundae and then some.
Little guy monopolized on the last day too and made his famous sugar soup.
We picked lots of berries that only lasted three days if that.
I can just hear the arguing now" No Greta that is mine!!!"

Beach Bums
It feels like summer break even though Greta still isn't quite out of school.
We joined the many, who journeyed to see the Japanese dock that washed ashore.
Seriously... after I took this pic, a moment of reality hit. This little guy has grown so much in two years. When we moved here two years ago, he could barely walk, let alone walk in the sand. Now he jumps from boulders, runs through the ocean water and is sturdy and fearless. I feel so blessed that these will be the childhood memories they have of playtime at the ocean.
They wanted to play in the sand but I really wanted to hike a trail I've been eyeing and it was so nice.

Fieldin wanted to take this Caterpillar home then wanted to help him swim in the ocean. Greta saved it and put him somewhere safe
Again, this kid has GROWN.. he used to be attached to us, now he is so independent we beg him to stay close. He runs so fast in the sand, he looks like the Flash.
