Finally, Clean Air

After weeks, we can finally go outside! We can see clouds, breathe clean air.. we are spoiled here and take it for granted usually. Thanks to some much needed rain we can venture out again. We sprayed down the house, cleaned the front porch and said goodbye to the thick layer of ash. Some of my plants like my palm trees will need some extra TLC to get the ash off the palms. So happy we got to open windows today.. it’s the little things!
With the move we have had to do some rearranging in the garage. Add in Greta bringing home MORE percussion instruments, I am ecstatic to get a bit of my art space back and create again.

The lack of light and the darkness and ash were not kind to my garden but I did find these lovely carrots ready to eat. We were able to clean up the garden a bit and get rid of the wall of beans plants, that FINALLY were somewhat done producing.

I found a little time to bake bread, it’s strange how it doesn’t feel “ normal” anymore without fresh baked bread in the house.

The jalapeƱos survived so time to make pickled peppers:)

The weekly treat basket we take when we visit dad, this week, Fieldin is making cookies and Jeff and I made him wooden Halloween decor
And after all the darkness, I go out and see this beauty. I thought these bulbs were done a month ago but one last burst of color to surprise us!

First Day For The Eldest

The little man has moved class up to his desk so he can close the door for quiet.

Greta has a pretty easy first day. She has a new desk now for her online learning this year.

First Day Of School For The Youngest

Kitty was not ready for school to start since she held Fieldin’s chrome book hostage.

The system shut down so he had to do some school by phone and laptop. Distance learning takes patience.

Craziness

What a crazy 6 months it has been.... pandemic, political unrest, transitions in our family, fires and snowing of ash and online school. We are home and resting but this guy starts online school on Monday. We did a treasure hunt around the house and found all the school supplies he needed for online school...minus 3 spiral notebooks.

We put my dads house up for sale, packed up and moved him to Oregon. We did it in 6 days. Below you will see Fieldin taking apart the bed at dads and then he put it back together in his room. The bottom is for sleeping and the top is for video games, reading and movie watching especially with Greta.

Moving dad into the home during a pandemic. A mask and a plastic visor= impossible to breathe

Some of my coworkers supplied us with daily meals when we got back home and I will be forever grateful

This girl helped so much with packi

The view from our window of the smoke. This is day time. It’s always hard to know if it’s day or night around here.
A good project to keep this boy busy

Ash on the front porch palm. There is ash everywhere and my garden is so sad. Despite how crazy life has been there are so many blessings to count as well
