A Day Out Of The House

The benefit of being a hour away from the ocean is we can get away for a day. The kids are loving my sandwich bread so we packed a picnic and brought a lot of bleach wipes:)

I used to jump around beach rocks without fear but now I really need to be afraid of holes like this!!

I love Oregon.

Gret’s found lots of little friends

These two.. growing up too fast

Perfect lunch spot

Dinner at our favorite place and then another picnic

Shells, agates and sea glass was found.. and some pretty rocks

I love them so

Spring flowers are in bloom

Beautiful views from the lookout

End Of School Parade

We were unable to do preschool promotions here so our school had a drive thru summer parade party. It was a lot of fun and so wonderful to see my awesome families.

I received beautiful art work like this portrait of me

So many excited kiddos..

A sign from one of the kiddos

Wonderful and fun end of the year gifts were given

Our little drive up area for my class

A Splash Of Paint

The painters started today and will finish Monday. Below is the before picture... this is what ten years of Oregon rain and intense sun can do to a paint job. This side gets the brunt of the weather and honestly I’m not sure if our contractor originally did the best paint job.. it aged REALLY badly.

Before and after. The once upon a time original color that I remember so well but doesn’t seem like it can be the same color!

I love our house and the memories we’ve had and I’m so happy it’s been getting a bit of a tune up lately.

Oh, and our okra is starting to peek out!

Doing some mending and the kitty was right by my side, not liking the strange noises outside.

She can’t see anything outside, maybe it was habit but not sure what she was staring at most of the day?

Thursday

Another busy day around here. Lots of walking, cleaning of the she cave, etc.. this morning Tater Tot made it clear to Fieldin that she was not up for backyard training 🤪

I gave lettuce and received plant starts in return!

I’m loving this begonia in the kitchen

It was yeast beast feeding day which meant I fit a little baking in today

Sourdough cinnamon muffins and sourdough sandwich bread. The kids are not fans of the artisan bread, they want “sandwich making” bread. I have to admit it’s pretty tasty!

Here are my new starts I was able to get planted this morning

Nothing beats fresh cut roses

He Doesn’t Need A Nap

All day I kept telling him he needed a nap, but as always he said he wasn’t tired. He said he was going out to draw on the front porch. Jeff found him like this. I’m sure it spooked the neighbors a bit. Someone was coming by the house to check paint colors so Jeff waited on the porch so the poor guy wouldn’t be freaked seeing this as he came around the corner to the porch. It sure looks like he wasn’t  tired🙄

More Work In The She Cave

First off, Fieldin is busy *training* the cat to be a backyard cat. She was able to spend more time out back today, hiding in the shade.

Working on a project for Greta. She was given an octave of piano keys from her old preschool teachers piano after she passed...

Cat in training

He offered to organize the pantry:) I helped a little so it wasn’t  just full of crackers.
The little man now has a hydration pack for his runs, now that the days are getting hot. I biked behind him today and he was speedy!

Hiding in the shade being a good kitty

Finishing the Christmas reindeer, giving the pieces a fresh coat of exterior white paint. They look great after Fieldin and Jeff’s sanding work
