After a year of going to band practice before school he and the other few 5th grade band kids played with middle schoolers last night. He did great and it is always so funny to see how he and Gret play so differently. He still enjoys percussion after a year. I hope he continues through middle school. Once in high school he will have so many more options so time will tell:)

Life In The She Cave
Playing around with the tools and my wood burner. Practicing and getting reacquainted with my fun supplies. I made this simple little bunny for Easter. Trying to average an hour or more of creative time a day to keep my mind happy.
The kitty cannot stay long in the garage, it will take some getting used to. When we come inside she is happy to see us.
I’m currently working on a travel box for Greta for her to store treasures from her travels in. I sanded and gave this cute little chest she brought home from camp years ago, a second life. A fun little project with my wood burning pen.
Jeff is also using the space to work on his puzzle when he has some free time
Greta asked for a highland cow.. just need to work on some shading with the good ol’ wood burner..

She Cave
The garage is finished and has even been cleaned up more since this photo. This is the shop area for Fieldin and I. Two work benches and the tools all in there places so we can find them.
The beginning of my “grass to garden”. Pretty excited to have fresh veggies all summer!
My art studio is done. I love it. I used it yesterday and opened the garage door for lots of sun. Neighbors and neighborhood kids stopped in to say “hi” which I absolutely loved. Much brighter and warmer than a she shed. It’s so easy to clean up my messes.
I went to work on sanding in the shop area and kitty took over my spot...

Book Battle
Fieldin and his team won the school Battle of The Books championship. Now on to districts next month! They each won $15 in scholastic book money. Greta went to see him compete for the last time. :( Both kids made it to the championship for three years each. A really cool accomplishment.

She Cave
It’s slowly getting there. My girl cave on one side.. the shop on the other.. waiting for warmer weather to scrub the floor. The garage has sheet rock so we could paint it if we want to. Hmm. My wood working, painting, creating & crafting and my scrapbooking items are out there now. Sewing and embroidery still remains up in a tiny corner of the LEGO room until the garage is scrubbed..
So much purging, moving shelving and reorganizing. Jeff is happy so that makes me happy!
All it needs is a rug and a cat tower and we are good!

Around Here
Around here... Fieldin just got done with his 5th grade wax museum presentation. He chose Frank Lloyd Wright as his person..
Morning light box for these dark dreary mornings. Even the cat needs some sun..,
Broadway show with this girl. She is busy getting all A’s, going to dances, playing pit orchestra for the play Mary Poppins, pep band and enjoying life as a high schooler.
Winter piano recital, she did amazing!
My creative juices are starting to flow more these days. I made Willy Wonka out of paper and an exacto knife...
Looking for her hummingbird friend
A total overhaul of the garage. It has to get worse before it gets better...The garage has always been clean and the SUV fit in their happily but we have changes ahead!
A sunny winter day at the beach. A good day for collecting driftwood.

Family Art Day
I love family art day. We used to have these all the time but rarely have a free schedule these days. These are the best days ever, in my opinion.
Greta’s felt succulent garden. This is made out of felt, a crayon and some wire. This one she doesn’t have to water:)
I made these kitties out of scraps that were headed to the landfill. No cost kitties.
Fieldin made a presentation board for a school project and now is working on another board game. Jeff borrowed his architectural mini pieces and created two cool houses.
