Little Man As An Only Child

Miss Greta is away at camp and Fieldin is taking full advantage declaring it "Official Fieldin Time" So we went on a bike ride. He used to hate his bike, like really hate it and now he says "bike riding is my third favorite thing" Then we went on a hike which really turned out to be pitching practice. A lake and a bunch of big rocks, what is a Fieldin to do. We finally finished the hike after a few pitching stops and then he wanted to make a blueberry crisp so we picked berries and he got a driving lesson in the fields.

Then he got to run. And we all know he loves to run. It was 100 degrees out and he did 5 events (60 m, 100 m, 200 m, long jump, he jumped almost 5 feet 9" and did a 4 x 400 relay) and placed first in all of them in his age group. He was running against 8 years olds and kept up. Below, he is in orange taking the corner running the inside lane in the 200 meter ready for the final sprint.
Stretching. I don't know how he ran so much in the heat.
 100 meter below
Sizing up his competition in the 4 x 400 relay. A team of younger kids needed a 4th person so he jumped in. I told him not to be intimidated by the big kids in high school and they joked they were intimidated by him. That made his day.
And boy did he do his best to keep up for awhile you can see him in orange behind and if you look real close you can see that look of determination on his face. He's a fast little booger.
All in all a good day for Fieldin and he was very content with his day. He even found some time after baking to play legos. It doesn't get any better than that.
