Around Here

It hasn't slowed down any around here. The kids just had vacation bible camp this week and Greta is doing dance and Fieldin is still in t-ball. Add in time with their friends and pool time and there hasn't been much time for summer laziness.

When we are at home they've been playing on the slip n slide, making water balloons and putting the sprinkler under the trampoline.

We had a nice visit from Jeff's mom and then we visited my dad in Washington.
We took a day and went up to Winthrop
The little guy is really into water balloons this summer and even brought them to my dads
Really appreciating any quiet time we get as a family this last week.

The Yard

I found these on my camera from a few weeks ago, with all the 90-100 degree temps my plants are starting to droop a bit but very happy with my roses this year.

my nasturtiums are taking over the yard now.
These came from a student at the end of the year.

The window box and pots are overflowing now.

I hope it cools off soon to give my flowers a break...

Jam

This year Fieldin was our jam helper. He also labeled the jam and did some taste testing. We all picked the boysenberries and raspberries. Now little man is set on jam for the year.

I came across some lids Greta wrote on years back, that is my favorite part of having them do it.

Blueberries

I can't believe how early the blueberries came on this year. We are happy because we have missed having blueberries in the freezer!

Love this. They didn't know I took this right after. Greta grabbed for one of his berries and look at the look he gave her!

we hope to have a freezer full of blueberries but we eat more than we pick so it will take awhile.

Batter Up!!

I FINALLY am getting into the swing of taking photos again and brought my telephoto lens to Fieldin's game tonight.
Batting, thanks to my lens I noticed he sticks his tongue out when he bats. And, yes, I know he doesn't tuck his shirt in like the rest of the team. Noone seems to care so we don't, after all he is 6.
Oh my goodness I love this picture. Waiting to go out in the field and then waiting to bat (below)

He looks so grown up here. He gives us a thumbs up sometimes after a good play. If he misses a grounder sometimes he shrugs at us like "oh well, I tried".
He gets rotated between 1st and 3rd base. If he isn't at one of those two places he is put on the pitcher's mound.
He has a good arm on him, he gets to use it alot at first base throwing to the catcher after almost every bat.

Throwing to first from third base (below)
After a hour the game is over, sadly it goes by so fast and so fun to watch. He is # 15.
We all know he was named after a major league baseball umpire. We never push the kids into a sport, this is a sport he really wanted to play so maybe it is in his blood, we will see. The funny thing is when coach yells "fielding position" he looks up because he thinks he is yelling "Fieldin position"  or yelling at him :)

Last Day Of 4th Grade

The first thing she said to me after school was "I'm a 5th grader now" and my stomach dropped. After fifth grade they move onto middle school. yikes... Here is Greta, her last morning being a 4th grader and 4th grade was a very good year. They all have been but this was a special one.

They always have to get one crazy pic in there.
and here she was on the first day of 4th grade.

Last Day Of Kindergarten

It was the little man's last day of Kindergarten. He is happy to move on to first grade.
Fieldin said his school year "was fun" and he liked playing with his friend Broden. He also says he liked "doing math and P.E." Congrats Big First Grader.

Just a reminder of what he looked like the first day of school! (below)

A Model Citizen

Today was award day so it was an exciting day for Greta. I got to see her get a classroom award.
Then a math award. That is her in the teal t-shirt on the end
Then a citizenship award for the second year in a row which makes us so very proud.
 Good job Greta. Congrats.
