And Now The Adrenaline Junkie and Wizard Part

This was the part the kids were waiting for. Both of them are fearless. Fieldin was tall enough to go on all rides but the two (terrifying) rollercoaster rides and he made sure he went on everything he could. I was so scared and had white knuckles holding on for dear life and I could hear him next to me yelling" THIS IS AWE-soooome.... Greta, well we all know she is an adrenaline junkie and she was much taller than she needed to be to ride EVERYTHING! she looks happy, huh?
Jeff and the kids by the DeLorian  from Back To The Future.
 Riding together
Fieldin loved this Simpsons ride. Me not so much :)
Greta's dream come true. Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. A special day for any Harry Potter fan.
What wand did she choose? No surprise Luna Lovegood.
 With the Night bus
Calling the Ministry of Magic in one of the English phone booths but it really aged us when she said ' I don't know how to use a rotary phone!!!" So we had to help.
The dragon on top of Gringotts Bank.. I was in a bad place right under it and the heat was hotter than I expected.
The windows and some places around Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade do things if you can do a spell correctly with your wand.
She got the hang of it quickly.
Asking the troll at Gringotts a question and he answers back! He is also grumpy.
 The kids love scooby

making it rain with her wand

Eating butterbeer ice cream in Hogsmeade. This is the day Greta went on her first upside down roller coaster!

Greta let Fieldin use her wand and he even got a few to work!
He wanted a picture with this Transformer who was a little scary.. He loved the ride and rode it twice.. and yes I held on for dear life during it.
With the conductor. We rode the Hogwarts express train a couple times and it was fun.. It all was fun. Even the terrifying rides.. yes I said it. The rides were fun. You have it in writing.

A Trip For Shellseekers, Adrenaline Junkies And A Wizard Part I

We just spent some time in Florida, one of our favorite places.
We had a good trip despite me being sick. I am rarely sick these days. Go figure. I could get myself out of bed in the mornings but by early afternoon I was done and needed rest, ibuprofen, meds and a box of kleenex. I think it was probably more of a relaxing trip with me stuck in bed and not wanting to go see and do 50 things a day:) Thank you Jeff for keeping the kids busy, helping me get better and taking photos
At the Shell museum. We were so excited to see this.

Greta has decided she is moving to Sanibel Island one day, which would not surprise me. She absolutely loved it there. She was hugging palm trees and squealing at the beach.. this was her place. Plus, you can bike everywhere and not drive. Extra bonus.
While Greta looked for shells, Fieldin spent his time running into the ocean, yelling at birds and having light saber wars with the waves.

They loved outdoor ping pong. There was an alligator pond nearby the table.. bad placement. Because of course they would eventually hit the ball into the pond and then game over.

And this is what happens when you try to load luggage at 3:30 a.m. and you have a cat that doesn't want you to go..It was funny and sad.
On the plane I was starting to not feel good but I joined in with Greta eating her Bean Boozled jelly beans. We thought it was hilarious but I don't think the people around us did.. It's a box with two each of the same color jelly bean. You can either get the good flavor or a horrible one. I kept getting the gross ones, she got the good ones. She got coconut, I got baby diaper. She got chocolate pudding I got dog food(soo gross). I threw in the towel after I got a barf jelly bean. It made the lawn clippings one taste great.
Fieldin at take off below... his expressions are hilarious. He loves planes.
 searching for shells below.
 and playing in the ocean
and alot of fun with cockatoos by the grocery store

and the best part for us was shelling..

Me and the kids. Looking for shells in the morning.

the ocean air helped me alot
Then we made a trip to the wild life refuge and the kids loved this part. It was too cold for alligators that day but we saw lots of birds, tree crabs(!) a snake and horse shoe crabs.

4-H Contest #1

Last night, Greta got to bed late after working the basketball game so we were a little worried that she would be tired for her first 4-H contest early this morning. Surprisingly, she hopped out of bed and was pumped. She started food prep early, got her rice cooking and then cooked her okra, kielbasa creole. Her favorite meal. We showed up at 10 am and she had to do a formal place setting correctly with a centerpiece and then had an interview and then her food was tested. In the end she scored 99/100. Not bad for a first try. She lost a point because she wasn't sure how many servings of rice she made.
 Setting her place setting.
being interviewed on her food choice and nutrition.
plating her creole for the judge
waiting to see if she liked it.. and she did very much.
 Her first 4-H blue ribbon.
She didn't think she was ready for the measuring contest yet. Measuring has to be correct, level etc.. but she tried for future practice and she ended up getting a blue ribbon in measuring. She measures way better than I do. I learned a few things :)
Making her centerpiece the night before. She wanted to have flowers.
A fun morning that she really enjoyed and was proud of. I am impressed, I couldn't have done all that at 9 years old!

Ball Kids

Both kids were ball kids for the OSU/WSU womans game last night.
It was a nail biter and in the end WSU lost.
OSU is ranked #9 in the country right now and so fun to watch.
The kids saw the WSU travel bus so had to get a picture.
It was pretty funny watching Fieldin shoot at half time and before the game. His floor mop was bigger than him, all that shooting and all the excitement...well lets just say he was tired. He was almost taken out a couple times by cheerleaders and pom poms but he just follows Greta to the court.
 Before the game.
After the game with Greta's favorite player :)
