The tree is smartly dressed.
This was the first year that both Greta and Fieldin could actively hang decorations. They both had a great time and it was hard for us parents to sneak an ornament on the tree ourselves. The best part for me was the kids actually noticing the decorations. They wanted to hear their stories and enjoyed seeing their baby/picture ornaments. Lots of memories on this tree. Lots of stories.
The kids putting on the first ornaments. Greta picked an elephant(her favorite animal) in a hot air balloon. Fieldin picked a santa.
Very excited about doing this all by himself. Lots of "look, look!!!"
Sweet Greta hanging but look in the background at sir cat snooping himself into mischief. Caught you on film!
My sweet loves.
Our 2012 tree. They are never the same...all so unique like each year they represent. They always seem to have a bit of rustic and retro in them. We have a few tree toppers floating around and we add that at the end to match the tree we've created. This year it's a wooden star.
Now onto a lesson of Chestnuts. We don't like them. I thought I had roasted chestnuts at one point in my life and had enjoyed them. We roasted a bunch in the oven and they looked sooo good...but they weren't to our liking. Greta asked" Will every chestnut taste like beans?"... yep, because they kinda did.
