The Grump Tree

This is the cat’s grump tree, it was supposed to be mine but it belongs to her now. She sits under it for hours and appropriately looks grumpy doing so:) 

Every once in awhile she hits the ornament and goes back to sitting... 

She will also stare at the ornament for long periods of time without breaking her gaze. 

She loves her grump tree. 

So does this make her a grump?

Pirates From Grammar Island Video

Last night, Fieldin was punctuation pirate #2 in his 5th grade play. He is wearing a white shirt, jeans!!!(I know, crazy) and the big black pirate hat. It is such a cute play and Greta still remembers the words from when she was in the play years ago. He did such a great job! So proud of our pirate:)

Another Piano Player

I asked lil’ man if he was interested in taking piano lessons last year and his answer was a dramatic “no way”. Now he sits down and plays like this.. pretty much self taught with a little hand placement lesson from big sister. She is VERY into his hand placements because she is worried he might get arthritis :) she sure looks out for him. It’s been so fun to hear them both drumming and lots of piano music.. lots of holiday songs lately. My favorite! 

Another Concert

Another late school night concert in Portland. As long as she can go and still gets good grades we try to let her see live music when time allows. Little bro was enjoying it and playing drum hands along with the band:) and dancing. This boy loves to groove.

Fieldin is into battling knights these days so he made this knight for archery practice in the backyard.

The school year is flying by.. working on art prep tonight for my class 

Grets and I helped make cinnamon rolls for her band fundraiser. They made 580 dozen!! 

Grets is still eating vegan and we are having fun experimenting with new recipes. These were really good Greek schwarma mushroom gyros.

Feeling very lucky to live where we do with farms around every corner. This is the time of year we start hitting the farm sales and stocking up for winter. Above is the difference between a farm apple and a grocery store apple. The farm apple is like a full meal.....

Beautiful pears, veggies and squash. Stocking up on carrots and potatoes. 

I had to add this in.. we have great discussions over breakfast together.. I know she wonders why I don’t give her a plate of food. 

Two cart fulls of beautiful produce with a pie pumpkin thrown in for some baking. 

Halloween

Things are changing, these kids are not as excited about Halloween. That excitement has been replaced by music practice and homework. Greta stayed home and enjoyed handing out candy to the neighborhood kids. 

Fieldin went trick or treating with friends and then sorted his candy. This was his last year having a class Halloween party.

My friend walked with us trick or treating. We both work at different schools but were m&m’s with our co-workers so we had to get pics together too.
