It's Hers

After years of only having time to knit hats and scarves, I knitted my first blanket this winter.
I was trying to figure out what room to put it in or if I should give it away as a gift.  No need to think about it. Tater Tot is sure it was knitted for her. I guess she did micromanage me while I was knitting most of it. I'm happy it is to her liking because she makes it quite clear that it belongs to HER and no one else. She takes many nice naps curled up in it. I guess it is time to knit another blanket...

Music Solo Competition

As usual, Greta couldn't do just one solo for competition this year, she had to do FOUR! which is kinda crazy, even for Greta. It's even more crazy to get a superior in all her solos.

With all her other life activities she didn't have as much time to practice so here she is cramming extra practice time in before her first performance.

Georgia 2

he fought the birds and the birds won.. :)

 love,love the history in Georgia

we almost passed out from cuteness at the sea turtle rehabilitation center. Below, visiting a beautiful old church and this music loving girl could NOT get enough of the old hymn books.

Georgia #1

We just got back from a family vacation to Georgia. It was much needed time to spend with these two growing and always changing kiddos. We had fun looking for tree spirits on the island we stayed on.

Happy Teenager Day! 13!!

Help. I have a teenager. How did this happen? She is not only just a teenager now, she is a... hardworking, money making machine, card carrying, fiscally responsible, robot building, award winning, self taught, music lovin', smart as a whip, perfectionist, art loving, art collector, science nerd, overachiever, kind, animal and child lovin', great big sister, role model, pun spouting, hates injustice, head won't turn off, drum and piano playing, bike riding, good friend, special daughter, lyric singing, always challenging yourself, all grown up looking, doodling, pin wearing, always changing, travel and history loving, teenager.
It has been a mind blowing parental proud experience watching your childhood. I have to remember that now, you are no longer a child. You have been an adult trapped in a child's body for awhile, so I should not be so surprised. It has been amazing. Looking forward to seeing what you bring to the table these next 5 years:)
The length of your foot is now longer than the length you were as a baby. It's no matter, you will always be our baby.

Yearly Egg Hunt

Even though the Easter bunny is not thought of these days, we were reminded that we needed to put on the yearly backyard egg hunt. This year, grandpa was here to enjoy the madness and get a good laugh. This egg hunt gets intense as they get older. Somethings you never grow out of, especially when it involves eggs full of money and candy.

Big Girl Bike

It was time. She had outgrown her old bike and we had nicknamed it "death trap". Grandpa funded a new bike for her for her birthday. It is named "Mean Mr. Mustard". No more borrowing my bike, Greta. Now it is my turn to borrow yours....

Science Fair Winners

This was the first year that lil' man could participate in a school science fair. He and his best friend won first place! He even has the medal to prove it ;)

Lacrosse

Lacrosse season has started for the lil' man. Which means rain or shine he is out on the field three nights a week practicing and playing double headers in and out of town on Saturdays.
This is the first year he is old enough to play and his second game he got 2 goals and was one proud boy! No surprise he would be great at a sport where he chases people with a stick, just sayin'. Oh and we found out the hard way that you cannot take a lacrosse stick on a plane even if it is a small one. They took it away and there were tears. Luckily it was just one of his backup sticks :(

Big Girl Drumset

After a few years of her starter kit, Greta found a great deal on an upgraded kit. It sounds so nice and SO much louder!

April Fool’s Day Trick By The Youngest

The lil' guy loves April's Fool's day. This year, among some other tricks, he glued a penny to the sidewalk at the park across the street. This has given hours of enjoyment to the lil' guy who can watch his prank unfold from the front porch. Many adults, children, grandparents, very frustrated dads have all attempted to pick up this penny. They have even resorted to kicking it, screams etc..
It's the prank that keeps on giving. Good one, Fieldin.
