Getting Stronger

Fieldin has been working hard at home on shoulder exercises and going to the physical therapist.
The report today was that his shoulder is getting stronger and that is great news.
So thankful for the prayers and positive thoughts that have gotten us through.
Just thankful we have some answers and a game plan to get this lil' man back in full gear.

11

She is 11...
and as she says, "officially too old to order off the kids menu now"
Actually she hasn't ordered off one in awhile..This girl wants double burgers now.
We had a quiet family night after the excitement of her party.
Fieldin went with her to get a venus flytrap plant, a gift from him and something she really wanted.
She wanted to eat at home and then have homemade raisin cream pie for dessert.
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!
Wishes for another wonderful year!
Thank you for an amazing 11 years, looking forward to these coming years and watch the woman you become.

May The odds Be Ever In Your Favor

Greta had a hunger games party for her 11th birthday.
The hunger games story is a little hard to handle for some so we cheered it up and I made a treasure hunt/challenge game for the girls.
That night, ready to make a wish
I made the emblem from the book out of melted white chocolate and froze it to harden and lay on the cake.
challenge one, making party dresses out of garbage bags, duct tape and misc... that they had to wear for the night.
 their designs...
shooting down tracker jackers with water guns
 searching for clues...
 shaving cream cheeto toss challenge
 more clues
 silly string challenge
 they all survived the games...

I was the game keeper but Jeff fell asleep even before I did.. this is him at 10:30.

Derby Fun

Jeff and Fieldin spent a Saturday in Oregon City racing his derby car that he made in youth group.
It was a fun filled day.
Getting a silver medal for his test scores.  All the kids had to take tests about derby cars and what they learned before the races started
They also did crafts and games throughout the day. The judges gave him a blue ribbon for his wind chime above. It is proudly displayed on our front porch..... it has a magicians trick piece, a toilet stall lock, beads, keys and all kids of other treasures..
waiting for the official to race his car.
test taking.... boring but hey it was worth a medal..
with his wind chime, ribbons and silver medal. He was voted a blue ribbon for sportsmanship during the day which is pretty cool. His car didn't win a ribbon. Only the top three are awarded. He is looking forward to next year and trying again.

working together in groups and playing games
Below during the races.

Spelling Bee

She's been in the spelling bee every year since first grade. She was hoping this year would be the victory year but it didn't happen.
Maybe in middle school??

Magic man

One "kind of working arm" has not stopped him from his constant crazy disguises.
This day he was a soldier like GI Joe. He wore that plastic play hat ALL day and even to a trip to Portland in 80 degree weather... and yes those are pajama pants.
Apparently this is what magicians look like... this is his magic man look. I think he looks like a rapper from the 80's but oh well... this is his imagination. He does a cool trick with paper clips or at least its cool to other 7 year olds... now only if he could make that mustache disappear...

Spring Concert

Greta had a Spring band concert a week ago. They all did great, she played the bells and snare drum with 5th grade band that she practices with at the middle school then the recorder and xylophone through her schools music dept.

Derby Cars

Making derby cars with their youth groups. They brought them home to paint.
Greta made a weiner mobile and Fieldin made a fish in waves car.
This Saturday is a big derby car race in Oregon City so hopefully at least Fieldin will make it.
Their cars are done and weighted correctly. Let the race begin...

Sling Shot

A hard couple weeks worrying about Fieldin.
He has had shoulder issues that we were all trying to figure out and really nervous that he was going to have to have surgery. After x-rays and MRI's for now he will be doing physical therapy twice a week to strengthen his shoulder and hopefully no future surgery.
At the hospital above waiting to be sedated for his MRI. The scrub clothes they gave him had tigers on them and he said" I look adorable.."
walking with Greta to show his friend his sling. Greta is been very worried about him and has been a great help.
and of course the cat is always around to make sure he is ok.
He left this note for himself the morning of his MRI on his bedroom door so he would remember.
at the beach, he said not being able to use his right arm would not stop him from digging to China.
 or making sand castles
Our sweet boy.. love you super trooper.

That Cat

likes to sit at the kitchen table with us... and isn't sure why he isn't supposed to. After all he is human in his mind..

 Kitty at breakfast= kitty pancakes

Happy Easter

It was a later morning this year on Easter morning.
The lil' man had figured out the secret of the Easter bunny this year, he grilled us non stop about how it just was not possible, so we had to give in and tell him the secret.
Greta tried the hardest to prove how all the Easter bunny does can happen but even she was no match for Fieldin.

Then we headed off to church and making Easter dinner.
