Lil' Man Lacrosse Video

Fieldin is in love with lacrosse but around here it starts being played in the 3rd grade(he is in 1st). We were given approval for the lil' man to attend a camp so he could play with others and see how he likes it. He is #32. He is the small one. Why is he the smallest? the other kids are 5th and 6th graders and lil' man held his own. We were told he could start playing now but for safety sake he will maybe play next year in 2nd grade so he has time to catch up in height to the "big kids".
If you have trouble keeping track of him in this video, just look for the small scrappy one that keeps getting the action and fighting for the ball. watch out big kids!

10 hours of Volleyball for the 10 year old

Yes you read right. 10 HOURS... of volleyball. If they weren't playing or warming up, her team was reffing for another team so no breaks. This is her first time playing club volleyball and her first tournament so it was quite an experience but she LOVED it. Absolutely loved it. As for me, 10 hours on bleachers is not what I am used to, but it was so fun to watch the girls.
So Greta gets coached by high school coaches at South Albany. The coaches and the girls are so amazing and kind. Sadly, this isn't the school that Greta will be going to. She will be going across town to a larger high school because of where we live. So we took a picture of her jersey because one day she may be wearing different colors :( So thankful they are letting her play and coaching her this year, she has learned so much.
Just realized the cat is in this picture, always in the middle of everything.. here is Greta at 7 a.m. ready to head to her tournament.
 warming up...

still going at 11 am...(shes up by the net)
break to ref two games and keep score. (she is #16)
 2 p.m. still going...(below)
And the final cheer after their last game at 5 p.m. and the girls were still going strong. They all did so great and I can't believe their endurance.
Here she is at her 1/2 hour lunch break at noon. (below)
 Still going at 4 p.m.
10 hours.. Great job Gret so proud of you and your team.

Happy Valentine's Day

My Valentine's Day started on Thursday, then Friday and now Sunday. When you work with little kids there are lots of parties. Greta and Fieldin had their parties on Friday at school.
Here is the coffee Jeff dropped off got me at work on Thursday. Such a fun surprise.

Off with her head! The Queen of Hearts Valentine's box( in the previous post) won 2nd place in the competition. Greta was happy with that. Here she is with her trophy and the Queen lost her head to get all the Valentine's out. Greta also won a book, candy and a free pass to skip a math assignment. Not bad at all.
Here is Fieldin with his NFL penguin Valentine bag to tote all the love...
He had such a fun time going through each and every Valentine.
The trend this year were valentine's that turn into masks. He got three different ones that he likes. I got a tiara one from one of my class kiddos and I tried to give it to Fieldin to add to his collection but he said "NO!" go figure.
Going through their Valentine's after school...
Fieldin's Valentine to Chompers. "I am so glad you picked us. You are so cute and fluffy, Your owner Fieldin. On the front he wrote, "Purrrrfect cat."
Happy heart day everyone!

Around Here

Here it is the finished valentine's box that Greta was working on. The queen of hearts. The  Valentine's get dropped in through her mouth. She made a sign that points to her mouth and says " Valentine's go here or off with your head!" As you can tell, she is into Alice and Wonderland these days....
After taking three early morning classes and getting up in front of the congregation last week, we became members of our church and the kids were very excited. It was a special day for them.
I had to take this pic of the cat... he was sitting for the longest time one morning in Greta's chair looking at her comics... It just looked silly.
The little crafter making a "cougar" penguin with a helmet. He works so hard on his art projects.

Around Here- Fieldin

Fieldin is still a little busy bee. He is starting to gear up for baseball season after taking the winter off of sports. He is still busy with his legos and dressing up in a new theme daily. There was Luke Falk Cougar day...
 Hawaiian Cougar Football day
Suction cupping his tooth brush to himself day... creepy but crazy, Not sure how he does this. Maybe we all could if we had no body fat??
and when he isn't dressing up, playing football, reading or being crazy these days he likes to play snap miniature football. And yes, he changes the rules on this game too.
Spring has sprung here lately, the rhodies are in bloom, so are the tulips and Daphne. Adjusting to seeing Spring color again.
While Greta is in her class on Saturday, the little man likes to walk around campus after we drop her off and check out buildings and soak in the whole scene. He looks for the dining halls. We look for museums where there are stuffed animals to look at or as he says " Real stuffed animal museums not like teddy bear stuffed animals" Today he tried to talk us in to getting him a hot chocolate or buying him Indian food(his favorite) for lunch as we walked. He is at such a fun age but I am thinking they are all fun ages...so far.
He is still enjoying school and is a very social kid. He also likes to chase girls and asking him about it may be the only way you will ever see him embarrassed.  He reads all the time these days even at the grocery store. If I can't find him he is usually by the bread aisle or somewhere sitting with his book. He is changing so quickly these days.

Around Here- Greta

Life for Greta is still busy.
Partly that is on her since she has to do everything at 200%.
One of her school projects was to decorate a box to put Valentine's in for class. She is connecting boxes, sewing and having fun but it will be quite a Valentine's box. More to come when it is done.

It is battle of the book time again and so far her team is undefeated with two battles under their belts.

Here is her sweet team above and letting loose below as the 80's group KISS.

This week she was also George Washington for a day.
other than that she is still busy with volleyball, math club, 4-H and church group and band. Not sure sometimes how she does it, but she loves it all. I guess summer is for sleeping...
