Halloween Warm Up

Jeff and I divided and conquered today.
I helped in Greta's class and Jeff went to Fieldin's class so we were each at a class Halloween party.
The surprising thing... Jeff took photos and I didn't!!!
Thank you Jeff.
Darth Vader on parade, there was a no mask rule at school.

His favorite part? an orange slushie treat.

Good Vs. Evil

The kids tried out their Halloween costumes yesterday to see if we needed any last minute touch ups. It looks like it is good vs. evil this year.

 Darth Vader and Yoda cat
And Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games (A.KA. The Mockingjay)
This is her serious Katniss face... Take that President Snow.

Who would win? Katniss with a bow and arrow or Darth Vader with a light sabre. I know who my money's on....
Darth Vader using his Jedi powers on me.
He is much cuter than the real Darth Vader.

Jack O Lanterns

We took this Sunday to relax and get our pumpkins carved. It was such a fun quiet day.
This was the first year, Fieldin carved his pumpkin on his own so he was really excited.

My First Half Marathon

I woke up early, made it through some rain and only ended up with a couple blisters after 13.1 miles.
It was fun and I can't wait to do it again.

At the finish line.. Thank you Jeff for having some warm soup waiting for me.

Around Here

Around here it still feels like summer. Warm days and still no rain really to speak of.
The poor cat, knowing that messy papers will always be hanging out of Greta's cubby, has been using the papers to shield him from the sun during naps.
Around here, I got some me and Greta time at the coast. It made me realize we need to do this a lot more often, especially now that she is always busy and I don't see her much these days.

Around here, with the weather still so warm and clear,  Greta decided to bike to school on the days she doesn't have band in the mornings before school.
Around here we are cheering for the CUBS!! well, most of us...(except Fieldin) He wore this sweatshirt as a peace offering.
And we are all cheering for the COUGS!!! well, most of us...(ahem, Greta, she cheers for OSU and Stanford(She wants to go to Stanford for college....wrong crimson school, Greta.)

Morbid Family Fun Night

We had a little free time Friday night so Greta made gingerbread dough and we made Halloween cookies, gingerbread zombies and ninjas and whatever haunted cookie cutters we could find.

decorating cookies. That is zombie Chompers and Zombie Fieldin below.
and these zombie cookies were great timing since Greta went to a haunted corn maze over the weekend with a friend.. Halloween fun has begun!

Drummer

Greta is playing the xylophone in band right now and we picked one up for her over the weekend so she can practice. So right now, soothing xylophone keyboard is in the house.
and the LOUD drum set is out in the garage...
and everyone is happy... ;)

Pumpkin Patch

It has been so warm and sunny this Fall. We finally had a free day to go to the pumpkin patch and it was lovely.
He sat in the front to be the farmer's helper.

It took awhile but we all found the perfect pumpkins, we all had ideas of what we needed when we got there.
and a quick run through the corn maze before we loaded up on our weekly goodies from the farm and headed home.
Kitty enjoyed his afternoon in the sun on the front porch watching Fieldin chalk the sidewalk and try to sell leaves for 50 cents.. if you want one too late, he is now selling pet rocks for $10.
