Sneaky Easter

As we get a little more settled each week, we resume normal schedules and traditions. Easter snuck up on us a bit so with some minimal decorating inside and out, we are starting to enjoy our old traditions in our new place. Today I gave in to some early egg dying because it is just plain fun. Greta was able to do it all this year on her own and wasn't covered in egg dye at the end. A true sign that one has reached "big girl" stardom.
While the eggs dried we took a quick drive to a nearby roadside flower stand for some spring prettiness. Lunch was easy, I handed over an egg to Fieldin. It was smashed and cracked within seconds and ready for egg salad. I knew he would make a good egg smasher. Greta opted for peanut butter and jelly but Fieldin LOVED the egg salad, licking it off his ritz crackers and saying "more". Lucky for him we have almost a whole dozen eggs sitting and waiting in the fridge.

Life As Usual

As you can tell life for us is getting back to normal. After being in the new house for a month now, we have toys strewn everywhere and of course one child running around the house with a diaper on their head. We are starting to feel at home with each day. As more boxes get unpacked and old treasures are introduced to the house, this place feels less like a stranger and more like an old friend. Today felt, for the first time, like a real normal weekend. The smell of waffles in the house, play time, laundry and a little unpacking. I am very excited to be getting back to normal days.

Pullman Reunion Week

It's been a bit of a Pullman reunion around here this week. We were happy to see our friend Mark on Sunday while he was in the area and then a visit from Greta's bff Grace and her mom.
In all honesty I didn't see the girls much the last couple days. They spent most of their time at home in Greta's room and the playroom catching up on much needed play time. We had some very late nights and a lot of sleep to catch up on. (as I type it is noon and Greta is still sound asleep). We had to say goodbye this morning but really enjoyed our time together. Here are a few pics from the last few days.

G&G at the ocean. They struck the same pose at the same. 2 peas in a pod.
Some kite flying

and an unbirthday cake for two special girls.

Life

Still not feeling 100% but getting back to life once again. I've been busy with the kids outdoors, unpacking a little, getting to tour the local fire station with the kids, enjoying a visit from a Pullman friend and awaiting a visit from two more this week. So excited. Trying to keep up with life right now and hope to post some new pics soon.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A glimpse of last year is here. The day was spent listening to mommy's croaky voice, speeding around on driving carts at Home Depot(hilarious), lots of errands and a little Princess and the Frog. Love you my sweet goofballs.

Random

Still on the mend here. Hoping we are all healthy soon.
Since we have been sick, there isn't much to talk about. Trees and flowers are still in bloom. The garage is still full of boxes. We have television again after a two month break and I have been enjoying the kids very much. Here is what they are up to these days:
Greta still likes everything scooby doo, sings beautiful songs and loves to dance, loves using scissors to make crafts, I see her teaching her brother things each day and giving him words of encouragement, loves cartoons, movies and Mary Poppins, loves to play and always has brusied up legs, her ballet poses are improving each week, She likes Derek the octopus and sea creatures, She loves her stuffed dumbo, she loves dress up and all flowers. We are so proud of her.
Fieldin is into mischief 90 % of the time these days, he LOVES to climb and is like a little spiderman, he drags around stools, boxes anything he can find to use to climb, he likes to hit the lock and alarm buttons on my car keys and press all buttons on my phone, he loves snacks and digging through the kitchen to find them, he is FAST, he is hilarius, he just got two new molars, his newest word is "seriously", he sleeps with a winnie the pooh stuffed toy, he can say up to "p" in the alphabet, he likes to dance, he calls Greta, "Grettie", he is all boy, he has a temper, his favorite foods are fig bars and hummus with pita and he is a sweet boy.
Love you Greta. Love you Fieldin.

Amen

We are in "if it's not one thing, it's another" mode around here. This week...the flu. I am the one down and out today. This last month has hit us hard with sickness and is putting a damper on unpacking, our schedules and our social life. I am hoping by the weekend we are all on the upswing. It is bound to happen, we are run down, in contact with new germs and not used to such an early spring.

Here is a new word from the little man. "A....men"

as you can tell, I'm not getting much sleep these days :)

Life in our world is pretty much boxes. We are slowly clearing part of the garage and putting things away. Today was the first day we had time to really dig out in the garage. We took a break to get some goodies at the Mennonite bakery, helped a cyclist with a flat tire and took a much needed trip to recycle mt. cardboard in the garage. The kids are very happy to be in our home and we finally could reach Greta's bike today so she burned some rubber on the neighborhood sidewalks with little brother in toe and me nervously yelling"BRAKE!".

Movin' & Groovin'

We are successfully moved for the second time in 2 months. Now we have alot of unpacking ahead of us. It was almost harder moving 2 minutes away than it was 8 1/2 hours. People had warned me that this may be the case and they were right. A very big thank you to Jeff who did almost all of the moving, the professional movers, nice neighbors stopping by and helping with heavy stuff and a neighbor bringing us chocolate chip cookies because chocolate makes moving much better...and of course to Greta and Fieldin for being so good and reminding me to laugh. Fieldin break dancing on moving day. Not sure where this came from but he is quite good and very entertaining.
Smart Greta. Swinging and staying out of the chaos. She was very good at directing movers on where everything went....

Moving day. Greta picked out their outfits. They were very excited to get moved in, especially their books and toys...now I just need to find the boxes and unpack them.
