Why is it that sickness hits on the busiest of weeks?
Greta had a nasty flu bug most of the week. That kind of thing stalls plans and errands. Luckily, she is feeling better and back at school today and we were able to make our appts and finish our to do list.
Now we are ready for winter break to come.
Little man is still busy building everyday. I love watching him create things. He is also reading harder books and starting more chapter books. It is fun when he finds a subject that interests him and he gets SO excited. Tonight it was sharks. So much new information.

Last Saturday before a virus hit her like a freight train, she spent alot of time in the kitchen with Jeff making a somewhat complicated dessert. It was like an upside down cake but with fresh cranberries and pistachios.. it smelled and tasted amazing. She is going to make it again for Christmas.
above zesting orange peel. She hopped in the shower while it baked and here is the finished product.. It was very pretty.
and another gingerbread house to add to the collection. This one Gret made at 4-H with an eggless icing..
Little man also has been spending time in the kitchen.. making up his own(strange) concoctions and if we are lucky something from a recipe.
He made peanut butter star cookies. He liked unwrapping the Hershey kisses..
Then putting them on warm cookies.
we found this in his room.. a Christmas tree he made. R2-D2 is under the towel to give it, it's shape. A belt to hold it together and legos for ornaments and a lego star taped to the top...He has a tree in his room already but I guess he needed one more:)
lots of book writing this week. He wrote quite a few chapters about a cat, and it is funny. He tapes each new chapter to his books. He reads it and laughs and laughs...love it.
busy cooking again. Smashing candy canes for peppermint bark.
I think all Christmas errands are done for now. Now just finishing up with school tomorrow.
Hoping to enjoy the season this weekend :)
