Little Builder

We are realizing pretty quickly that Fieldin's "thing" is building when he isn't playing sports. We all really enjoy seeing what he comes up with but the drawback is he can make some major messes. Nothing in the house is safe from his creations.. and our floors are always covered with legos, building materials, pillows, boxes etc..sometimes it is hard to walk around the house.
Before we left for vacation he built this house for the cat, so he would have somewhere to hide while we were gone. The cat really liked it and spent alot of time in it until I finally moved it to the garage a day ago.
we also find building plans all over the house either from his legos, knex or hand drawn plans he has made. He really likes to create his own things. Like an ice cream truck with 28 ice cream blasters for example...
legos all over the rug which the cat has just gotten used to napping on..
And creations and pieces all over the kitchen and the kitchen table.. It is hard to live with the little builder sometimes but he loves it so much we can't complain...

Exploring A Little

Even after leaving Legoland we still had lego time in the mornings
A few hours away from San Diego I finally visited Joshua Tree NP.
It was beautiful.. I've always been more of a National Park girl rather than an Amusement Park girl.

We also took the kids to visit an old mission, we always have to throw some history lesson in there. Now that they are older they are on to us though.

The days were long and full and these two were so tired but maybe not as tired as we were :)

Oh Fieldin.. he is so chatty.. here he is talking on his banana phone and making us all laugh. A man that heard Fieldin for about 15 minutes telling stories told us he thinks he is going to be a comedian some day and looking back on this trip I see what he means..I think we are just so used to him coming up with these funny thoughts and stories. He knows how to make his sister laugh more than anyone.. this I know for sure.
They got new Junior ranger badges to add to their collection and the ranger gave them a children's book on the park. They loved this.

Now we are back from the Valley of the sun.. I miss it a bit. I admit it. Time to get back to our routine. What a nice winter break. We needed it.

Lego Land For The Youngest

It was the perfect time to take the lil man to Lego Land. It was either now or never, next year I think Greta would have outgrown alot of it and as it was the kids wanted more crazy rides. It turns out they are BOTH daredevils....We all had a great time and we were in full blown lego/fun mode. Above, Greta loved the whoopie cushion in the floor of the Legoland Hotel. She says she wants one in her room..
They also loved the disco elevator
and the play area at the hotel and the best thing was we were right next to lego land. Fieldin was so excited for this trip.. even though we were on a late flight and didn't get to the hotel until even later we are pretty sure he never STOPPED talking. Luckily he is pretty funny and the people on the plane, shuttle etc found him entertaining.
 at the park..

the Star Wars area was a favorite

Greta was all into the rides and roller coasters..

Fieldin and Greta did not like this lego polar bear that came out at them

At the hotel if they figured out the code on the treasure hunt they got prizes that were locked up in our room. They loved this.
 .

most of their time was spent on the roller coasters

their room, they loved having their own tv and area

After two days we saw everything and rode everything atleast once

Their first time at legoland buttons
Fieldin doing one of his favorite things.. eating.
this is them after leaving the park on Day two.. pretty close to exhaustion.. I love this picture.. They did stay awake for lunch of course.

Around Here

Sorry it has been quiet around here. We are a bit consumed by basketball, soccer, homework and a science fair project as of late. Luckily I have my voice back!
Some things are the same, Fieldin is decorating the walls with his artwork
He still is reading and improving each week. He is looking forward to kindergarten when he will bring books home ALL the time!
playtime when we can find it, right now he like to play store and build legos
these two.. their practices/games take up most of our time. It is a big commitment this year.
Greta shooting a free throw above and blocking out below
getting the jump ball(in black) she loves this
Heading down the court(in black below). She looks so young out there some days playing against the bigger kids.
Fieldin has been having soccer practices and his games start soon. It is tiring and a bit stressful but the kids love what they do and I love watching them.
