The Biggest Agate In The World... O.k. Maybe Not

Saturday was a good beach day.
The kids wanted to go the minute they woke up.
Here is the biggest agate I have ever found. I wasn't even rock hunting. I just wanted to play frisbee and volleyball...and maybe find a sand dollar. I had three agates wash up right to me. A nice gift from the ocean.
Lately, when we go to the beach we set up a home base, then all go off in different directions. Greta starts looking for fossilized rocks. There she is above with a big shovel and a frisbee to hold her finds. Fieldin plays with trucks and sand toys(below) and likes to dig. Jeff goes rock hunting near the waves. I look for someone to play ball or frisbee with but everyone's busy. So I just check out what everyone else is doing.
The kids feel so at home at the beach. I saw Fieldin stop climbing and head down to home base and get in the picnic basket, grab some food and then just sit peacefully watching the waves. He's very independent for his age but watching it all from afar was pretty cute.
Our favorite treat at the beach. Toostsie pops. They are easy and don't melt. Here we all are with one. love this pic.
I've been soaking these two in ALOT lately. They are growing and changing so fast.

Mastering The Bike- Video

Usually, you see us riding around on the tag along bike. We go longer distances to the park and on rides and his little legs aren't quite ready for a long trek. Lately, he's been wanting to get stronger to ride his bike to the park on his own. We've been mastering breaking on a downhill. He also wants the training wheels off this summer so we have been riding around in lots of circles. I think he is doing really good, but I'm a bit partial. :)

Gret's Glasses

Genetics caught up with her.
She recently grew another half inch(she's inching closer to 4'7" now!)
It was probably enough to send her borderline eyesight south to the land of spectacles.
We were all hoping she would make it to 8 or 9 before she needed them. She doesn't mind. She is happy to see things more clearly once again. Also, her glasses came with a cute case and this girl likes accessories.
Her favorite pose. Fieldin's first words when he saw her with glasses was "Greta, you look like a librarian!"
When she first put them on she said "whoaaaa" and she is also happy that the birdhouse in the far corner of our back yard is no longer a "fuzzy house".
She picked these out all on her own and wasn't interested with input. You can't see it in the picture but the inside/side of her glasses is a very light green that matches the color of her eyes and that's why she wanted them. She loves her green eyes.
Last evening she said "I like my face with glasses"
She doesn't have to wear them all day yet but she can if she wants too. It will take awhile for her to get used to them. Right now she wears them all the time because it's easier.
Fieldin wants a pair now and keeps telling me " My vision is running out"
He thinks they are "super" glasses and she can see everything..like far away volcanoes, cities in WA, ocean creatures. We keep trying to tell him you can't see what's not there...
Now he just hides behind things and shouts "Can you see me?"
Greta just says "no" and will let him figure out she can't see through objects.

Fieldin's Ninja Warrior Course-video

This is part of his "course". Greta did the course this Sunday and wanted to be timed. She has extra obstacles and made it in 45 seconds. :)

Starting Saturday Stairclimbing..Say That Three Times Fast.

 I love these kids.
I love that they will wake up and let us drag them out on a damp 2 mile hike after they wake up.
(with a bribe of a shared milkshake)
The kids wanted to see waterfalls. We climbed many stairs today. Moss covered slick, never-ending stairs. They were troopers.
Waterfall 1, then we kept going, got a "little lost" and found another waterfall.
 me & my girl.
Jeff and the kiddos at the top of one of the waterfalls
Waterfall 2. This one I love. A favorite place for lunch.
Running on the trail.
Greta and Fieldin. Thank you so much for being so cool... :)

Around Here

Around here we have been napping when we can....
Around here we are getting ready for St. Patrick's Day and Easter fun...can't wait!!
Around here, she celebrated "100 Days of School" with lots of fun activities.
Around here we have been doing art projects except for when Chompers Cat decides to crash RIGHT on top of our project!!! This happens alot. And yes, Fieldin is wearing his Easter basket on his head as a driver's helmet.
 And more resting...
Around here we are soaking up sunny days and riding bikes to the park. There is a park that is set up similar to the American Ninja Warrior course near by so we ride there. Fieldin likes to go there and pretend he is a contestant.
Around here, this girl is really growing up before our eyes. She does so well in school, she stands up for kids that are being bullied and picked on....she can't stand injustice. She is caring, her respect is earned, she is sweet. She is a BIT messy, she is strong, she loves to read and swim. She doesn't like to color within the lines. I never feel like I see her enough these days.... looking forward to summer.
Around here we are trying to get out of the house.... Cooped up is never good for us. On a little roadtrip to visit a friend for the day... since Gret was at school Fieldin buckled in his buddy to come along.

Around here, we are waiting for Spring.
Around here, we are keeping busy.
